Ash ‘Apple’

Description

This unusual apple is made of Anglesey spalted Ash. Spalting is a fungal attack on the timber usually when the tree has died and the wood is lying in damp conditions. The resulting grain patterns can be very lovely and this one is no exception. There is also a bark inclusion in the wood which ads to the character of the piece. The underside of the apple is dimpled and I have inserted a clove to represent the core. A very special gift for a wood lover.
