Bowl from very old Chirk Castle oak
Beautiful Bowl from very old timber NOW SOLD
This lovely bowl is made of burr oak which came from a very ancient tree in which grew in the grounds of Chirk castle. When the tree eventually came down , the national trust experts were unable to accurately say how old it was but put it at at least 500 years but possibly 900.
The bowl itself is a delight, with beautiful colour and figure. This may now be a one off as I dont have much of the wood and will be more inclined to make smaller items such as pens. It is 16.5 cms in diameter and is very very special.
